San Francisco, CA – On Fridays we take a look at local politics in our Week in Review section. This week, we're focusing on the major Monterey County news story that's been buried by bags of spinach getting pulled off grocery store shelves.

On Tuesday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco ruled 14-to-1 that recall petitions do not need to be distributed in any language besides English. That case could have major implications on two Monterey County land-use measures, the General Plan initiative and the Rancho San Juan referendum. KAZU's Ben Adler gets some analysis from Joe Livernois, the city editor at the Monterey County Herald.
