Event Description

California Custom Sheds Cycling Team will host the September Twilight Ride at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca as part of Monterey Speed Week at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The monthly Twilight Cycling event allows riders of all ages and skill levels to take to the famous 11-turn, 2.238-mile WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca road course. The September Twilight Ride takes place on Wednesday, September 11th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Bicycle riders can experience the thrill of pedaling WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The raceway is the perfect place to train hard, ride for fun or do a little of both. Traffic flow is in one direction and one-hundred percent bicycles. There is the 180 feet of overall elevation change to test stamina, the eighteen-percent downhill grade through the world-famous Corkscrew, and an overall 109-foot drop between Turns 8 and 9, to test determination. With the spectacular rural Monterey County landscape the event is the perfect combination and recipe for a great early evening of healthy fun and exercise. This ride often lures participants from the motorsports world as it occurs days before the start of the IMSA Monterey SportsCar Championship Powered by McLaren that takes place from September 13th to September 15th. This month's ride is hosted by California Custom Sheds Cycling Team. The California Custom Sheds Cycling Team was established with the commitment to build goal-oriented methods in order to stay competitive in tomorrow's world. Visit them at www.facebook.com/CalCustomShedsCyclingTeam to learn more. All proceeds from the ride will go to "Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day" which occurs on Saturday, October 5th. Following the ride there will be refreshments and a BBQ (Donation) by Monterey Off-Road Cycling Association MORCA . Or just enjoy a burger in the paddock after taking a few laps around the track. Twilight Cycling is one of the many community service-oriented programs that the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP) and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca conduct throughout the year. The cost to participate is $10 per Rider and a Helmet is required. WorkHorse Bicycles will be on hand to demo bikes. The next ride, hosted by Velo Club Monterey, will be held on October 16th.
