As the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History remains temporarily closed at this time, the organization still continues in the community spotlight as it focuses on learning and intellectual engagement through its popular social-distance virtual learning program, “Museum to You”.
This program continues to offer excellent virtual versions of popular, interactive programming hosted by its expert Museum Staff and knowledgeable Educators. More upcoming programs in this series though the end of the year include the following:

Join us as “Return of the Natives” leads us on an exploration of Fort Ord National Monument Monument. They will guide us on a short hike as they teach us about restoration and native plant communities. Come learn about the incredibly rich Flora and Fauna of this local ecosystem and possibly get the chance to plant some native plants.

BUG OUT WITH BREE! -- WALKING STICKS (THE INSECT)

This week we will talk about a very special order of Insects called “Walking Sticks” or “Stick Bugs”. These species are highly camouflaged and escape predation by blending into plant material.

The Osprey, or more specifically the Western Osprey (also called Sea Hawk, River Hawk, and Fish Hawk) is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey with a cosmopolitan range. It is a large raptor, reaching more than 60 cm in length and 180 cm across the wings.
