Regeneratión-Pájaro Valley’s Climate of Hope 2020 Forum

An Important Seminar about solving the Challenges of rising Temperatures together … “Let’s Beat the Heat”!

Regeneratión-Pájaro Valley will host its second “Climate of Hope” Forum On-Line on Wednesday, August 5th beginning at 3:00pm. This important event, with Spanish Interpretation available, will provide essential information and facilitate the discussion on the challenges, ongoing actions and long-range strategies to solve the effects of climate change.

Scheduled Speakers include:
Assemblyman Robert Rivas, 30th California Assembly District
Yana Garcia, The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Deputy Secretary for Environmental Justice, Tribal Affairs and Border Relations
Rebecca Garcia, Mayor of Watsonville
Claudia Tibbs, Sustainability Professional and Conservation Communicator, La Eco Latina
Javier Zamora, JSM Organics
Dr. Flavio Cornejo, Salud Para la Gente

Presenters will also share the results of Regeneratión-Pájaro Valley’s recently-completed survey on the climate impacts on Pajaro Valley Farmers.

In addition, the event will feature a Panel of local Climate and Equity Experts moderated by Natalie Hernandez, a Specialist in Environmental Policy and Community Planning with diverse experience with the California Natural Resources Agency, California Air Resources Board, and Institute for Local Government.

The forum will also highlight “Campesinos: Workers of the Land”, the Pajaro Valley Arts Presentation currently being exhibited through Pajaro Valley Arts in Watsonville created to honor the dignity of our “Campesinos” / Agricultural Workers and Farmers.

Virtual networking opportunities will follow this webinar for continuing the conversation on this extremely important topic.
