Event Description

A Forum with Steve Friedlander, Executive Director of the Bach Festival on May 19th

Church of the Good Shepherd & Preschool hosts Steve Friedlander, Bach Festival Executive Director, on Wednesday, May 19th at 12:00 noon.

The Carmel Bach Festival began in 1935 as a four-day series of concerts at the Sunset School Auditorium and the Carmel Mission Basilica. Over the years, it grew to a two-week celebration of concerts, recitals, master classes, lectures, and open rehearsals in July. The Festival’s mission is to celebrate the works, inspiration and ongoing influence of Johann Sebastian Bach worldwide by immersing audiences in a festival experience integrating music, education and ideas.

Much to the joy of its many fans, the Carmel Bach Festival has announced that its Live and In-person 2021 Festival will run from October 23rd to November 5th. The two-week Festival will feature a wide array of Main Concerts indoors at the Sunset Cultural Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea and additional events in other venues.

Steve Friedlander, Executive Director of the Bach Festival will speak about his insider’s view on presenting and preserving this Iconic Summer Music Festival in Normal and Not-Normal Times.

Please join us for what promises to be a very interesting and informative discussion! To join the Forum on Wednesday, May 19th please visit: www.goodshepherdcorral.org/monthlyforum where you will find the sign-in button.
