Coastal Roots Hospitality’s “Pick It Up, Pay It Forward Program” recognizes Wonder Wood Ranch in Prundale.
Coastal Roots Hospitality’s fundraising Campaign that funnels 10 percent of gross proceeds from takeout orders to local charities has named Wonder Wood Ranch in Prunedale as its Beneficiary for May and June.
Operating three of the most iconic restaurants in the county (Rio Grill, Tarpy’s Roadhouse, Montrio Bistro), CRH rolled out its “Pick It Up, Pay It Forward” Program to honor its commitment to the community it serves. The hospitality group has handed out substantial checks to its charity partners, including $50,665 to the Food Bank for Monterey County when the program rolled out late last year.
Wonder Wood Ranch restores a sense of wonder and hope through animal intervention. The nonprofit serves gang-impacted youth, kids who have experienced major trauma, those in the social service system and others with physical disabilities.
On its 16-acre Rural Property, Wonder Wood Ranch helps more than 1,000 kids each year through its various programs. Its stable of more than 50 animals include horses, donkeys, goats, pigs, chinchillas and more. Plus, there are often crafts, snacks, archery, reading, writing and art.
In the first two months of 2021, CRH’s Program raised $22,442.63 for Jews Christians Muslims United, a local nonprofit that provides opportunities for people of those three faiths to work, learn, love and grow in relationship with one another.
Future Beneficiaries for “Pick It Up, Pay It Forward” include:
• O’Neill Sea Odyssey (July/August)
• Monterey County Rape Crisis Center (September/October)
• Gathering for Women (November/December)
