Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra (presented by the Carmel Bach Festival)
Presented by the Carmel Bach Festival
Directed by Rachel Podger
This November, the festival will be featuring the internationally acclaimed Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and beloved violinist Rachel Podger. Many of the musicians in this performance are also apart of the Carmel Bach Festival orchestra, so we are excited to welcome them back this Fall.
Fresh off their celebrated 2024 tour, Tafelmusik returns with Brilliant Baroque—a spirited program that captures the energy, elegance, and joy of baroque music. From the stately courts of England to the vibrant streets of Venice, this musical journey includes works by Handel, Purcell, Avison, Reichenauer, Vivaldi, and, of course, J.S. Bach.
Rachel Podger, hailed by the BBC for her “infectiously spritely bounce and exhilarating dramatic tension,” leads the orchestra in Bach’s Violin Concerto in A Minor, alongside Vivaldi’s exhilarating Concerto for Four Violins and an enchanting orchestral suite by Reichenauer.
