The Chinese government has accused the Dalai Lama of instigating the anti-government unrest that has sparked violence in Tibet. Journalist Pico Iyer has known the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader for three decades and written a new book, The Open Road: The Global Journey of the Fourteenth Dalai Lama.
