KAZU News Wins Regional Edward R. Murrow Award

KAZU News has won a 2020 regional Edward R. Murrow Award. The awards are given by the Radio Television Digital News Association to honor outstanding achievements in local broadcast news.  

KAZU won the award in the following category.

The entry now moves on to the national competition.

KAZU competes in Region 2 Small Market Radio, which includes similar size stations in California, Hawaii and Nevada. With these honors, KAZU News has now won 27 regional Edward R. Murrow Awards and one National Murrow Award. 

 

Erika joined KAZU in 2016. Her roots in radio began at an early age working for the independent community radio station in her hometown of Boulder, Colorado. After graduating from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in 2012, Erika spent four years working as a television reporter. She’s very happy to be back in public radio and loves living in the Monterey Bay Area.
