California is reporting, as of May 18, 81,795 confirmed cases of COVID-19. 3,334 people have died. That’s an increase of 32 deaths and 1,365 cases compared to the prior day. 1,339,316 tests have been conducted.
SANTA CLARA COUNTY
1:30 p.m.
As of May 19, Santa Clara County is reporting 2,483 confirmed cases of COVID-19. A total of 137 people have died. This marks an increase of 15 cases and 2 deaths from the county’s last report. 82 people are currently hospitalized, 25 in ICU. 52,398 tests have been conducted.
MONTEREY COUNTY

The Monterey County Business Council and Small Business Development Center, in partnership with the County of Monterey and City of Salinas, will be presenting another webinar this Friday, May 22 from 10 - 11 a.m. Called "Risk Management for Small Business During COVID-19 ", they will discuss business interruption insurance and limiting COVID-19 related liabilities. United Farm Workers and World Central Kitchen will be distributing 2,000 prepared meals to farm workers in Greenfield today (May 19) from 5 p.m. at Patriot’s Park (1351 Oak Ave). The meals, handed to motorists as their cars drive by the park, are being prepared by local restaurants. Everyone working on the premises will use masks. Social distancing will be observed.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY
10 a.m.
As of May 18, Santa Cruz County is reporting 165 known cases of COVID-19 among residents. This is an increase of 1 case since May 17. Fatalities remain at 2. The county says 25 people have required hospitalization and 125 people have recovered. 6,124 negative lab results have been recorded.
