Diet and Health

Segment 1: Medical and other experts have long known that there is a direct benefit to eating a healthy diet consisting primarily of fresh fruits and vegetables, but the struggle to convey this message in a modern food environment rife with inexpensive but unhealthy choices is an uphill battle. In this segment, we examine our current foodscape.
Segment 2: Fresh and healthy food is unavailable to many of us for reasons of habit or location. In this segment we visit physicians and others urging patients to make more conscious dietary choices, which can be quite satisfying is properly prepared. We also examine the high environmental costs of industrial agriculture and the lack of nutrition education currently provided to medical students.
