As of 2pm, PG&E said via Twitter it restored power to all customers in Santa Cruz County and Monterey County. Statewide, approximately half of the total customers impacted by the 10/14 Public Safety Power Shutoff have power back.
Parts of Santa Cruz County are expected to lose power beginning at 8pm tonight. Residents have tried to prepare for PG&E’s anticipated “Public Safety Power Shutoff” with changing information. Local water departments are also on high alert.
UPDATE 10/09/19 1:40pm: PG&E has announced that shutoffs in Santa Cruz County will begin later this afternoon and into the evening. According to Santa Cruz County, power outages for parts of the county are expected to begin after 8 p.m.
