Pacific Grove, CA – Eight people were laid off at the Monterey County Herald Monday (April 30, 2007). Across the bay, The Santa Cruz Sentinel had to eliminate about 40 workers when they shut down their printing operations early Monday (April 30, 2007) morning. With the same new corporate owner employees at both papers fear more changes could be in store.
