A late-summer tradition that goes back six decades, the 60th Annual Sandcastle Contest sponsored by the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea and the American Institute of Architects Monterey Bay Chapter will take place Saturday, September 16, 2023. Building begins at 8:00 am (or earlier if you can get up), registration begins at 10:00 am, and judging is at noon. The boundaries of the contest are 10th and 12th Avenues with registration located at 11th.

This year’s theme is “Time Travel – Into the Future”.

The Sandcastle Contest is free and open to everyone. And remember that bribery (non-monetary) is encouraged!
