Join us at the Sanctuary Exploration Center on December 10th, at 6:30pm to award Dr. David A. Ebert (Pacific Shark Research Center / Moss Landing Marine Laboratories / San Jose State University) the 2025 Ed Ricketts Memorial Award. The Ed Ricketts Memorial Award was created to honor scientists who have exhibited exemplary work throughout their career and advanced knowledge, appreciation, conservation and protection of the marine environment.
Dr. Ebert is known as the Lost Shark Guy for spearheading a global effort to find and discover little-known and unknown sharks. At the reception, he will share a presentation on December 10, 2025 on how the movie “Jaws” gave birth to the modern field of shark science, conservation, and education. Doors open at 6:00pm and the presentation begins at 6:30pm. Seating is limited and first come, first serve.
