Thursday, June 20th, 2024 is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. For many years now, at both summer and winter solstices, Khenpo Karten Rinpoche, a Buddhist monk and founder of the Manjushri Dharma Center in Pacific Grove, offers a Blessing of the Waters by reciting two prayers that he composed: one giving honor to the elements and offering blessings to the whole world, especially the great ocean, and the other a prayer for World Peace. Please join Rinpoche and other peace-loving people in person at Lover’s Point Beach on Thursday, 6/20/24 at 6pm. We will gather in community and send our good energy to the ocean, to all the waters of the world, and to all of nature and humanity. Attendees are asked to bring flower petals or whole flowers for the offering.
