The Carmel Foundation Celebrates 75 Years with a Community Open House

Welcome to a New Generation of Aging at The Carmel Foundation!

To celebrate 75 years of serving older adults on the Monterey Peninsula and greater Monterey County, The Carmel Foundation is throwing open its doors for a festive and welcoming Open House—and the entire community is invited. This free event offers a chance to explore the Foundation’s vibrant campus and experience a day filled with activities, creativity, and connection.

Guests are invited to:

• Tour the full campus and experience free classes and demonstrations in art, wellness, games, and lifelong learning
• Be among the first to visit our brand-new Jill Sheffield Wellness Studio, featuring sample classes like yoga, Qi Gong, and meditation
• Join in (or begin to learn) games like ping pong, bridge, chess, Rummicube, and cornhole
• Enjoy live music from the Lee Durley Duo and a wellness talk with Dr. Pablo Veliz on aging well
• Explore creative arts like woodcarving, watercolor, wool felting, and papercrafts
• Visit reflection stations including oracle card readings and Tools for Peace meditation

And of course, it wouldn’t be a celebration without good food—complimentary tacos from Taquitos Nayarit and freshly baked treats from The Carmel Foundation’s kitchen will be available for all guests.

Whether you’ve been a member for decades or are visiting for the first time, everyone is welcome—no matter your age. Come see for yourself why The Carmel Foundation isn’t your grandmother’s senior center. It’s a vibrant, welcoming hub where older adults thrive—through connection, creativity, movement, and meaning.
