Gilroy Garlic Festival Shooter Had Target List, According To FBI

Aug 6, 2019

The FBI is opening a federal domestic terorrism investigation into the Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting suspect.

The shooter had a target list that includes religious institutions, federal buildings, major political parties and the Gilroy Garlic Festival.  FBI Special Agent John Bennet says the targets were nationwide and specific. Although the FBI will not release the names on the target list, it will notify the organizations about the threat.

Agent Bennet says their investigation has not turned up a manifesto, and as of yet, there’s no clear motive. He says the ongoing review of the suspect’s digital media shows “the shooter was exploring violent ideology”,  which he described as varying and competing.
