Violent Crime Drops Again, FBI Reports
The number of violent crimes reported by U.S. police agencies fell 6.4 percent in the first half of this year compared to the same time in 2010, the bureau says. Property crimes were down 3.7 percent.

The U.S. economy gained momentum in the second quarter as consumers and businesses picked up their spending. Gross domestic product grew at an annual rate of 2.6 percent.
