KAZU is proud to provide in-kind on-air support for events happening in our broadcast region. We sponsor a variety of arts, culture and civic events that reflect the mission of KAZU's programming and provide enjoyment, service and outreach to our audience.

KAZU’s Media Sponsorship program strives to provide a voice for diverse, thought-provoking ideas, people and experiences within our community. By providing in-kind media sponsorship to local organizations and events, KAZU exposes listeners to a variety of cultural, artistic and community experiences throughout the Monterey Bay Area that entertain, promote discourse and increase participation in our community.

“Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks”, presents the sixth annual “Mole and Mariachi Festival!” The event features a mole tasting and competition - as well as food, music, artisan crafts and more! Proceeds from the festival support educational programs, visitor services and park restoration. “Toast the Coast” is a benefit dinner and gala for Save Our Shores. Spend an evening at the Monterey Bay Aquarium celebrating Save Our Shores’ four decades of preserving and protecting Monterey Bay. Featured guest speakers will include congressman Jimmy Panetta and the first Save Our Shores executive director, Dan Haifley. Dinner and cocktails. 6:00pm Saturday, September 22nd. Santa Cruz Shakespeare’s 2018 summer season continues - presenting David Ives’ “Venus In Fur.” Seduction and dominance, trickery and lust play out in this comedy between a desperate director and a mysterious actress. Santa Cruz Shakespeare presents Romeo and Juliet, a tragedy written by William Shakespeare about two young star-crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. Among Shakespeare's most popular plays, Santa Cruz Shakespeare’s version is directed by Laura Gordon.  Opening July 24th, and running through August 1st, all performances take place outdoors in the picturesque Grove at De Laveaga Park in Santa Cruz.  Find SCS’s 2018 Season Calendar and tickets at santacruzshakespeare.org

Love's Labour's Lost is one of William Shakespeare's early comedies. It follows the King of Navarre and his three companions as they attempt to swear off the company of women for three years of study and fasting. Their subsequent infatuation with the Princess of France and her ladies makes them forsworn. Now in their 5th Season, Santa Cruz Shakespeare will be presenting Love’s Labor Lost under the direction of Paul Mullins. Performances begin July 10th and continue through September 2nd.

Celebrating their 5th season, Santa Cruz Shakespeare’s season includes “Love’s Labor Lost”, and the iconic love story of “Romeo & Juliet” along with David Ives’ wickedly smart comedy, “Venus in Fur”.
