KAZU Transmitter Update

KAZU’s over-the-air signal will be temporarily unavailable during planned overnight maintenance at our broadcast tower next week.

The planned outages are:

• Monday, August 3, from 11 p.m. to Tuesday, August 4, at 5 a.m.
• Tuesday, August 4, from 11 p.m. to Wednesday, August 5, at 5 a.m.

If work proceeds as planned on the first night, the second outage may be significantly shorter. Our signal will be restored as soon as the tower crew finishes its work each night.

A bundle of Verizon cables has detached from the tower structure and become unstable in windy conditions. Because crews will be working near the tower’s transmission lines to remove it, KAZU’s transmitter must be powered down for their safety.
