What role do artist collectives and collaboratives play in helping individual artists thrive and in fostering support for the arts in communities? Artists of Monterey along with the new Director of the Monterey Museum of Art will discuss the history and future of artist collectives in making Monterey a vital creative community. Author Joanna FitzPatrick will start the conversation by telling the history of Carmel’s artist colony and how she came to write “The Artist Colony”.
