Big Sur Land Trust’s Guided Hike: Arroyo Seco Ranch (8.5mi)
Big Sur Land Trust’s Guided Hike: Arroyo Seco Ranch (8.5mi)
This 8.5-mile guided hike is an extension of Big Sur Land Trust’s typical guided hike offering and will take you up to a phenomenal viewpoint of the ranch and surrounding wilderness areas. You will hike out and back across steep, rolling oak woodlands, grasslands, and creek crossings within the Arroyo Seco River watershed. Shuttle and carpool logistics will be coordinated from the Running Iron in Carmel Valley. No restrooms are available at the property, so please plan accordingly. Arroyo Seco Ranch access is not offered to self-guided hikers, so this is a unique opportunity to explore this conserved land.
This is a full-day guided hike. This event will be held Saturday, May 6. With travel time, this event will last from roughly 7am-5pm. Total elevation gain/loss: Approximately 3,000ft. One large, steep hill with many false peaks. Given the strenuous nature of this hike, the varied terrain you will encounter, and the possibility for it to be a hot morning, we ask you to carefully consider your personal health and fitness level before signing up for this guided opportunity.
