Palenke Arts proudly presents Latin Grammy Nominees, Los Tangueros de Oeste: a Nuevo Tango ensemble steeped in the styles of Astor Piazzolla, Tanghetto, Gotan Project and Bajo Fondo, as well as the classic Tango of the Golden Era.

Focusing on original compositions, the group blends beats and textures from Hip-Hop and Electronica with Flamenco influences filtered through an improvisational lens. Their singular Nuevo Tango sound is cool, impassioned, sensuous, seductive and utterly dance-inducing. Featuring the golden voice of singer/flutist Daniel Riera, the piano virtuosity of up and coming pianist Diego Ramil, the bandoneon mastery of Adrian Jost (Trio Garufa), the Flamenco inflected strumming of Venezuelan master guitarist Carlos Caminos and the emotionally lyrical sounds of violinist Charith Premawardhana (Classical Revolution), surrounded by the lush compositions of bassist/composer/bandleader Sascha Jacobsen (Trio Garufa, The Musical Art Quintet), their music is as much for Tango lovers as it is an opening for all listeners into this magical world.

Los Tangueros del Oeste will perform a mix of modern original Tango and Classic Tango from the Golden Era, with a few masterworks by Astor Piazzolla thrown in to complete the night.
