This free event for all ages brings for the first time to Santa Cruz the excitement of a pro-wrestling extravaganza in the most unexpected venue, the library!

Founded in 2024 by Jerry Rocha and Victor Dwight, Lucha Libro brings theatrical, Mexican-style wrestling performances to public libraries, while engaging attendees and promoting reading. "Libro" is the Spanish word for "book," so in addition to physical performances, wrestlers share reading recommendations with attendees while dressed in colorful masks. After reading, the masked performers act out short, family-friendly wrestling matches complete with acrobatic flips and body slams to thrill the audience.
