The 76th Annual Monterey Peninsula Obon Festival on Sunday, July 13th
The Buddhist Temple of the Monterey Peninsula hosts the 76th Annual Obon Festival Event on Sunday, July 13th.
Festival Highlights includes the following:
• Japanese Food
• Entertainment
• Ikebana and Bonsai Exhibits
• Children’s Games
• Japanese Goods and Crafts for sale.
Outstanding Food Choices include:
• Tempura
• Sushi
• Beef Teriyaki
• Udon
• Gyoza
Day-long Entertainment also features Martial Arts Demonstrations and a Tea Ceremony. The event will also include an exeptional performance of Taiko Drumming. The colorful Bon Odori, or Community Japanese Folk Dancing, takes place later in the Afternoon.
