Seaside, Del Rey Oaks, and Monterey are teaming up to protect our local eco-habitats at Monterey State Beach and Robert’s Lake in Seaside. Be part of California’s largest volunteer event for the environment!
This year, we’re making it extra fun with a “Trashure Hunt”. It's California’s biggest scavenger hunt! Hidden “trash” items at the cleanup sites can be redeemed for valuable prizes.

Who Can Join?
Everyone! Volunteers of all ages are welcome. (Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.)
What to Know
Check-In: Public parking lot north of the Monterey Tides Hotel (2600 Sand Dunes Drive, Seaside).
Waiver Required: Every participant must sign a waiver.
Supplies Provided: Gloves, garbage bags, litter sticks, and more.
Bring Your Own (If You Can): Litter grabber, bucket, and reusable water bottle.
Dress Smart: Comfortable clothes, long pants, closed-toe shoes, hat, and sunscreen.
Snacks Provided! Stay fueled while you make a difference.
About Coastal Cleanup Day
This annual statewide effort, led by the California Coastal Commission and coordinated locally by Save Our Shores, has brought together over 1.5 million volunteers to remove 25+ million pounds of trash from our waterways. Together, we’re protecting wildlife, creeks, rivers, lakes, and coastlines for future generations.
