NewMusicWorks presents a Very Special Jazz Performance by The Art Lande Trio at Cabrillo College’s Samper Recital Hall -- This Sunday, September 27th beginning at 3:00pm!
This, Sunday, September 27th, the Art Lande Trio gets things going with an afternoon of uniquely beautiful improvisations for piano, flute and guitar at Cabrillo College’s Samper Recital Hall beginning at 3:00pm.
The afternoon’s Musical Excursion will feature not only piano, flute and guitar, a combination that Art is especially at home with, but an exceptional mix that few jazzers would normally be drawn to. Art Lande’s deft melodicism and textural finesse blend with a modal fluidity and harmonic palette that reach beyond the boundaries of jazz, as we know it.
Pianist and Composer Art Lande is an outside innovator. Flutist Günter Wehinger will be traveling from Switzerland for this concert set, while Art Lande and Guitarist Tim Wendel will arrive from Denver, Colorado. Lande has long collaborative ties with both Wehinger and Wendel, but this will be the debut of all three playing together.
