Browse a huge variety of flowers, vegetables, herbs, and strawberries—all grown by UCSC Farm staff, students, and volunteers in our greenhouses. Proceeds support the Center for Agroecology’s hands-on learning programs.

Please plan to park across the street from the Hay Barn in parking lot 116. We encourage you to bring a basket, wagon, or other means to carry your plants. We will have a limited number of cardboard boxes available but encourage you to bring your own.

We accept cash, checks made out to “UC Regents,” or credit card (we do not have a traditional credit card reader; you will need a smart phone to scan a QR code and then manually enter your credit card number.)

Explore the deep at a kids art event on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sanctuary Exploration Center! Kids will learn about deep sea animals in Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, and use them as inspiration to create a communal work of art. The finished piece will be on display at the center through May, viewable during open hours: Wednesday - Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This free event is recommended for children aged 5-10, but is open to all ages. Registration in advance is required as space is limited.
Calling all nature-inspired artists!
Host a booth at the Art in Bloom event at Wilder Ranch State Park on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This celebration of spring allows artists to sell their art, interact with nature enthusiasts and spend a day at the state park!
Display and informational booths are free. Vendor booths are $50, and fees help Friends support local state parks.

Visit the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History to explore the beauty and fine details of the natural world around us in this annual spring exhibit featuring works from over 50 local artists in a variety of mediums. Scientific illustration brings to life the intricacies of nature while deepening our knowledge and enriching connections. Every year, "The Art of Nature" exhibit continues to reveal new wonders—just like nature itself—offering fresh inspiration for curious minds. On view March 28 - May, 2026.
Santa Cruz Bake & Gather is a friendly cake and pie potluck where everyone is welcome. It is the intent of this event that at least one attendee from each group bring a cake or pie on the day of the event. All attendees are asked to register so we can maintain an accurate headcount, as space at this venue is limited. Whether you are an experienced baker or just giving it your best shot, this event is about sharing recipes, enjoying great desserts, and meeting your neighbors. No competition, no pressure, just good food and good company.
Santa Cruz Bake & Gather is a free event and open to all. Tickets are available at no cost. While donations are never required, they are deeply appreciated and help cover venue and event costs. Contributions can be made during ticket registration on Eventbrite or through our donation page.

The 2026 Santa Cruz Jewish Film Festival returns with its biggest and best program ever! Fourteen feature films presenting a diverse and engaging variety of stories and opinions will be screened. Monterey’s Fisherman’s Wharf Association hosts Wharf Walks on the First Saturday of Each Month. These Walking Tours take place at Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf, are at no-charge to attendees and are held from 10am to 12:00pm. The tour is for ages 10-adult only, with no more than 15 people. Tours meet at the head of the Wharf near the pink “Harbor House” Store, #1 Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Monterey.

This entertaining tour of Old Fisherman’s Wharf and the waterfront will take you back in time to explore the history of the Monterey Wharf, early history of the Monterey waterfront, The Rumsien/Ohlone People -- Monterey’s first fishermen, the abalone industry, whaling the bay and of course, the legendary sardine industry.
You will discover some of the people and cultures of Monterey’s colorful past and hear fascinating stories about Old Fisherman’s Wharf and those who worked and walked there. You will also learn about the sardine and squid industry.
