Local students will get civics boost, healthcare advocates denounce Medicaid cuts

In today's newscast, local medical providers joined Democratic Congressman Jimmy Panetta in Santa Cruz yesterday to denounce federal cuts to Medicaid. And, Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is one of 10 districts selected for a statewide service learning and civics grant. The two year program is to help integrate civic education lessons into the high school curriculum.
