There were nationwide rallies on Thursday, July 17, to protest the Trump administration's policies, including a demonstration in Salinas. Protesters spoke out against cuts to social services, and mass detention and deportation of immigrants and refugees.

In today's newscast, protesters in Salinas joined thousands nationwide on July 17 to honor the late civil rights icon and Congressman John Lewis on the fifth anniversary of his death. They were also out to rally against deportations and healthcare cuts. And, California is launching the second round of its $22 million Extreme Heat and Community Resilience program.
