New federal contractor will take over Santa Cruz County Head Start program, Newsom announces affordable housing development on state land

Encompass Community Services has stepped away from hosting the Head Start early education program in Santa Cruz County after challenges that started during the government shutdown.

In today's newscast, the local nonprofit Encompass Community Services steps down from administering the Head Start program after 40 years. Plus, Governor Gavin Newsom announces the development of affordable housing on California state land.
