Monterey County joins Santa Cruz in opposing offshore drilling plans, while local groups host "people's hearing"

Santa Cruz County revived the Local Governments Outer Continental Shelf Coordination Program after learning about the Trump Administration's plans to sell oil and gas leases off the coast of California.

In today's newscast, Monterey County joins Santa Cruz and Sonoma counties in opposing the Trump Administration's plans for offshore drilling and mining. Plus, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and other local groups host a "people's hearing" about the drilling plans on Friday, January 9, at 6pm at Portola Hotel in Monterey.
