California AG backs lawsuit against ICE center, PVUSD to shrink number of schools

The Pajaro Valley Unified School District Board laid off 160 employees in December and announced this month they are forming the Sustainable Schools Advisory in the wake of declining enrollment and loss of state and federal Covid-19 funds.

In today's newscast, immigrant rights groups have support from Attorney General Rob Bonta in their lawsuit citing civil rights violations at an ICE detention center in San Bernardino County. And, the Pajaro Valley Unified School District is recruiting people for its Sustainable Schools Advisory, which will recommend school closures and mergers.

People interested in joining the committee can apply on the district’s website through April 3rd.
