Monterey County Youth Museum is hosting its second annual Worldwide Day of Play tomorrow.
Executive Director Lauren Cohen says the event will remind people about the importance of play.
"Our children’s museum is a microcosm of what makes Monterey special," she says, "so we have a lot of key industries from our community represented in the museum."
The museum features make-believe play areas for agriculture, oceans, and medicine, allowing children to explore their world.
Cohen says more than 450 children’s museums participate in the Day of Play. But she adds the importance of play extends outside of Saturday’s event.
"The world is complicated and I think that we’re busy doing all the things," she says. "And so I just want families and people with littles to come to the museum and really just have fun.”
MY Museum’s Worldwide Day of Play is tomorrow from 10 to noon.
