In honor of the 60th Anniversary of the Selma march, we will be showing the 2014 movie "Selma" by Ava Duvernay. 60 years ago, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King led hundreds of non-violent activists of all ages on a march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, which resulted in passage of the Voting Rights Act. Many Unitarian Universalists came to Selma, two of whom were martyred for the cause. UUCMP's minister at the time, Rev. Robert O'Brien, participated as well. We will mark this anniversary by showing the 2014 movie "Selma" directed by Ava Duvernay, March 7th, 7 pm in the sanctuary.
