Join the Carmel Orchid Society at its monthly meetings to learn how to grow orchids in our local environment. Meetings are held from 2:00pm to 4:00m on the First Saturday of the Month (except during Months with Social Events) at the Community Church of Carmel Valley. Monthly meetings feature Informative Speakers and an Opportunity to win Orchids, Food and Fun.

The Society also has a Picnic, Excursion and Holiday Dinner as well as sponsoring an Orchid Market in the Fall.

Explore a treasure trove of gems, minerals, fossils, crystals, and handcrafted jewelry. Enjoy the silent auctions and exhibits for all ages. Whether you're a lapidary artist, seasoned collector, jewelry maker, or just gem and mineral-curious, this family-friendly event promises shine and surprises around every corner. Kids necklace-making, games with prizes, a fossil dig, silent auction, and featuring the collections of CVGMS exhibitor members round out the fun.

Admission is $6 and children ages 12-and-under are FREE. Food and drink available for purchase on-site. Come dig into the event!

Join us as we honor International Day of Peace, also officially known as World Peace Day. This United Nations sanctioned holiday has been observed annually on September 21st since 1981.

The documentary film, Peace One Day (2004), by British filmmaker Jeremy Gilley, chronicles his multi-year quest to establish September 21st of each year as a day dedicated to honoring and strengthening the ideals of peace. On this day, the UN calls for a 24‑hour global cease‑fire and urges individuals, communities, and governments to recognize peace as a fundamental human right.

Come and enjoy pizza, an inspiring film, and meaningful conversation as we celebrate peace and reaffirm our shared vision of a world beyond war.
