Community Calendar

Spend a morning working at the UCSC Farm with fellow volunteers and Center for Agroecology staff. Tasks may include pruning, mulching, weeding, or hand tilling. Please come prepared with adequate shoes, water, and sun protection. We will provide all the necessary tools, but request that volunteers bring their own work gloves. Heavy rain will cancel.

Free parking is available in UCSC Lots 168 (the Village), 170 (the Hay Barn), and 115 and 116. Biking, carpooling, and busing are encouraged.

Questions can be directed to Maddie Holtkamp (mholtkam@ucsc.edu). To participate in volunteer workdays, all volunteers must have volunteer waivers on file with the Center for Agroecology (does not apply to currently employed staff or students).

The community event will feature a donation-based farmstand with fresh produce grown in MEarth’s organic gardens, a plant sale offering organic and native plants for your home garden, an Eco-Art Zone with hands-on activities for kids and families, and delicious farm-to-table meals from local vendors.
