Take a free, guided tour of the 30-acre organic UCSC Farm, hosted by the UC Santa Cruz Center for Agroecology. Visitors tour organically managed greenhouses, hand-worked garden beds, orchards, row crop fields, and the children's garden while learning about the history of the site and the basic concepts of organic farming and gardening. Perched on a meadow near the campus entrance, the farm also offers spectacular views of the Monterey Bay. Heavy rain cancels.

The UCSC Farm has hilly and uneven terrain with gravel, dirt, and mulched paths. Visitors needing an accommodation to fully participate can email agroecology@ucsc.edu.

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day - hosted by the Monterey Off Road Cycling Association (MORCA) - is a FREE EVENT for kids of all ages and bicycling skill levels. Snacks and raffle prizes will be provided.

**Bikes and helmets will be available for kids who do not have their own**

First-time riders can learn to ride in a supportive environment without leaving the comfort of the event expo area. More adventurous riders can try out the Fun Zone or Skills Zone obstacle courses... or join a short, easy-to-moderate trail ride guided by local High School Mountain Bike Team riders.

Check in with exhibitors like local bike shops, Monterey County Parks, Monterey County Supervisor Wendy Root Askew, Sea Otter Classic Foundation, and more.

Bring a helmet, water bottle and sunscreen and be ready for some fun!

Join us for a special storytime with Salinas author Irma Coyt Pina and her fun job at being a beekeeper. Free honey for first 10 attendees.

First Saturday Tours are a wonderful way to introduce yourself to the Arboretum or to deepen your understanding of the Arboretum's plant collections. Each tour is a little different depending on the time of year, the interests of the tour guide and the people who join in. You might learn more about the birds and mammals that make this land their home or about the amazing physical adaptations that plants have evolved to better deal with extreme weather and climate conditions.

Tours given on the 1st Saturday of each month - at 11am

Tour is FREE with paid admission!

Meet your tour guide(s) at the entrance to the Visitor Parking lot. Walks will be about one hour.

Tours cancelled if the weather is unsuitable.

Join us for a Tri-Tip BBQ fundraiser for #liveforross: A Fund for Safety Awareness and Vocational Readiness. Your support helps Monterey County graduating students in welding, automotive, and ag tech classes. We do this by awarding $500 award certificates to students, redeemable at Barnes Welding in Salinas and Napa Auto Parts, to help students get the tools they need to advance their careers. This year, we are proud to have helped 28 students and strengthened our community.

Soul Collage is an insightful, incredible, dynamic activity. A collage is a powerful visual tool to focus your intentions; create a collage of images that will express your visions, your desires, your dreams and goals. Collage speaks to the subconscious which invites and allows incredible miracles to happen, dreams to manifest, goals to be realized, and our visions to become real. This is a playful process of creative fun. It might becomes one of your favorite past times, and now it is happening every first Saturday of the month!

There will be a short PowerPoint presentation of collages. You are welcome to bring images and personal photos, sharp scissors, and magazines. Everything else will be provided including more magazines

If a family member has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or a related neurocognitive disorder, a caregiver support group can offer you an opportunity to find out more about available community resources, learn from others who are going through similar experiences, and build a support system. Our Salinas caregiver support group meets on the first Wednesday of each month, without a fee. Open to family members. These groups are led by a trained facilitator and will now meet in person at the First Baptist Church.

Join the Carmel Orchid Society at its monthly meeting to learn how to grow orchids in our local environment. First Saturday of every month 2 PM at the Community Church of Carmel Valley.
