The Five Congressional Candidates in 20 Minutes

Brittany Darnell

For the first time in two decades, there’s no incumbent running for the Congressional seat that represents the Central Coast.  Congressman Sam Farr will retire at the end of his current term.

In the June 7th primary, five candidates are running for California’s 20th Congressional District seat.  The top two vote-getters will move on to the general election this November.

Since the candidates started announcing their intentions to run last year, each  has visited KAZU for an in-depth interview with journalist Lewis Leader.   Here you can hear four minute excerpts of those interviews.

Democrat Jimmy Panetta
Peace and Freedom Candidate Joe Williams
Independent Barbara Honegger
Independent Jack Digby

About the Interviewer: Lewis Leader is a journalist who was a longtime newspaper reporter and editor for 27 years with various publications including the Monterey Herald, San Francisco Examiner, Toledo Blade and Los Angeles Times.
