This program is about the Texas singer-songwriter who Rolling Stone magazine called "an outlaw-country pioneer who wrote some of the genre’s greatest songs".
Shaver died in Waco, Texas in October 2020 from a stroke at the age of 81.
Host Paul Ingles is joined by the writer and music critic Holly Gleason who guides us through this hour that samples Shaver’s own recordings of some of his best, as well as a few of the classic covers of his catalog by other top artists.
