Bring the kids, the neighbors and your memories. On Sunday, Oct. 25, from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunset Center hands its entire historic campus to the community for a free centennial block party. From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., the 718-seat theater fills with performances by the Carmel Bach Festival, the Monterey Symphony, the Carmel Music Society, and Chamber Music Monterey Bay. On the outdoor terrace stage enjoy, Youth Music Monterey, the Carmel High School Chamber Singers, and Monterey Peninsula Ballet Theatre. Outside and throughout the buildings: the Sunset Legacy Wall, a giant artwork guests help create with the Sally Russell Art Studio; a Center for Photographic Art photo bus and book signing; live painting; free face painting; oral history collecting with the Carmel Public Library; wellness with Yoga Shala; campus tours; and complimentary treats. Free and open to all.
