The Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History will host its annual Night Owl event on October 11, 2025 from 7-10pm.
Guests 21 and up are invited to spend a night at the Museum with drinks from Alvarado Street Brewery and Scheid Winery, food from Julia’s Vegetarian Restaurant and Krusty Dogz, meet the current artist in residence Wesley Haack and explore his woodblock art, put on a detective’s cap and solve a murder mystery, create floral bookmarks and jade rings to take home, play a mad scientist, get a tarot reading from Mayari Metaphysical, and do even more for a good cause.
A raffle for the evening features multiple high-end prizes including a stay at Chaminade Resort, dinner for two at Coastal Kitchen, private yoga sessions at Salty Soul, and a wide variety of other experiences and treats.
Night Owl, the Museum’s major fundraising event of the year, supports Museum programming and events including free admission to all Monterey County residents, free Science Saturdays, K-12 field trips, and more.
Those who want to enjoy an extra level of exclusive fun can also purchase VIP tickets, which give them entry to the event 1.5 hours ahead of the main night. Admission to VIP includes pours from Twisted Roots Winery, bites from Pacific Coast Catering, a special science show, live music, and extra special meet and greets with reptiles from the Bay Area Herpetological Society.
“Night Owl offers guests the opportunity to see some of the coolest, craziest, and spookiest parts of the natural world against a backdrop of incredible music, drinks, and friends.” Says Noelle Fletcher, the Museum’s Marketing and Events Manager, “You get to choose your own adventure and learn about light waves while applying blacklight paint, create a jade ring using physics, meet and learn about snakes, tarantulas, and more, all with delicious drinks in hand, and know that everything you purchase creates opportunities for the Museum to continue serving the community over the next year.”
The event will feature VIP early access from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., followed by general admission festivities from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Details about the evening’s entertainment, culinary offerings, and program highlights can be found at: Night Owl 2025 — Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History
Proceeds from Night Owl benefit the Museum’s core educational programs, endangered monarch butterfly conservation efforts, and preservation of iconic exhibits including Sandy the Whale and more.

About the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History
In 1883, the Museum opened its doors among the first wave of natural history museums in America. Naturalists of this era began a national tradition of hands-on science education and nature preservation, a tradition the Museum has continued for over 140 years. The Museum’s mission is to inspire discovery, wonder, and stewardship of our cultural and natural world. The Museum supports conservation, scientific literacy, co-curation, and deep learning towards a resilient community and sustainable future. Their work is made possible, in part, by the following generous donors: American Water Charitable Foundation, City of Pacific Grove, Community Foundation for Monterey County, Harden Foundation, Helen Johnson Endowment Funds, Monterey Peninsula Foundation, and Shelby Cullom Davis Charitable Fund. The Museum is open to the public Wednesday-Sunday, 10am-4pm. For more information visit www.pgmuseum.org.
