In this bold and hilariously irreverent reimagining of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, a tangled web of old friends, ex-lovers, estranged in-laws, and lifelong rivals come together under one roof. Directed by NCTC Associate Artistic Director Noah Lucé, Life Sucks features Artistic Director J. Matthew Gordon, Managing Director Justine Stock, and returning New Canon players Sarah Dunnavant, Craig Storm, Celeste Lagrange, Mike McColl, and Patty Gallagher.

Inspired by the vibrant open-air street bazaars from around the world, Night Market 831 is a lively gathering where friends and families can sip, savor, socialize, dance, shop, and explore. Held in the colorful Sand City Art Park, surrounded by stunning murals, the market creates a unique and inviting atmosphere. Committed to fostering a safe, fun, and inclusive community space, featuring a rotating lineup of local performers, creatives, and entrepreneurs who bring their talents to life each month.

This outstanding market takes place on the First Sunday of Every Month through October at 9500 Central Avenue in Ben Lomond.

Offered in conjunction with Monterey Makers, this is a series of entry-level workshops aimed at teaching skills in astronomy-relevant hardware like CAD, 3D Printing, Arduino programming, and more.

Come along bi-monthly (usually) on the third Thursday Evening to learn how to make and program devices and gadgets.

Weathertech Raceway and the MIRA Astronomy Club present a free Stargazing Event. This existing & educational event takes place at Laguna Seca Raceway at Hospitality Island in the Lakebed.

Come along to this great dark sky venue and take a look through one of our scopes, or bring your own. We can even offer advice on how to set your up if you’re new to this.

This event is appropriate for children and adults of all ages. For comfort, warm clothing and hot drinks are encouraged. Bring a flashlight (with a red lens). Rain, fog or cloud cover would cancel the event.

Spectators are asked to park on the perimeter of the island. If leaving or arriving during the event, try to keep headlights off the group as much as possible.

In this activity, participants are invited to make a paper model of the Solar System, then walk out the space between planets along the trails at Palo Corona Park. The hike is 1.5 miles with an elevation of 20 to 30 feet.

Get some astronomical perspective and learn about the different bodies in our Solar System from a professional astronomer.

This event is suitable for all ages. Minors must be accompanied by an Adult.

Look up at the Night Sky and revel in its vast and seemingly endless Mysteries.

Come and join us as Amateur Astronomers from the MIRA Astronomy Club and Santa Cruz Astronomy Club share their knowledge of the Cosmos. Observe details on the moon and faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters.

For comfort, warm clothing and hot drinks are encouraged. Bring a flashlight (with a red lens).

Joining Hands Benefit Shop Celebrates 15 Years of Giving Back

CARMEL, Calif. (June 10, 2025) — Joining Hands Benefit Shop, a beloved nonprofit thrift store in Carmel known for its commitment to serving the community, is celebrating its 15-year anniversary with a summer-long series of special events, giveaways, and themed shopping weeks beginning Saturday, August 9.
