Heat Advisory

With extreme heat warnings issued for much of Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties, here’s what you can do to stay cool through the holiday weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a moderate heat risk advisory for these areas from 8 a.m. Wednesday to Friday at midnight.

A heat advisory is in effect this weekend for the Salinas, Hollister and Carmel Valleys. Temperatures are expected to reach over 100 degrees in some areas, with communities offering cooling centers to the public.
