Cabrillo Gallery is proud to present Student Exhibition 2024, showcasing an outstanding cross-section of student talent. This exhibition offers a wide sampling of exemplary artwork completed by students from all disciplines taught in the Cabrillo College Art Studio and Art Photography Departments during the Spring 2024 semester. The work spans a wide range of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, woodworking, sculpture, small-scale metals/jewelry, digital fabrication, typography, mixed media, and traditional and digital photography. Every year Cabrillo Gallery presents this exhibition to honor and recognize the dedication, creativity and diversity of our student artists.

Community Action Board and Santa Cruz County Adult Education will present this bilingual workshop on the requirements and steps to follow in the Naturalization process to become a United States Citizen
Tenants looking to rent with animal companions often encounter hesitant landlords. SCPL is pleased to partner with Santa Cruz Tenant Sanctuary to provide this free public talk on the rights of tenants sharing their housing with animal companions. While landlords currently have legal discretion to allow tenants to keep pets at rental properties, 'assistance animals' -- including both emotional support and service animals -- are variously protected under state and federal Fair Housing Act laws. Led by a local activist and tenant lawyer the talk will be followed by Q&A
SCPL is pleased to partner with the Santa Cruz Jewish Film Festival for Jewish American History Month. These screenings explore the complex history of the Middle East. A must-see for anyone wishing to understand the origins of the Israel-Palestine conflict. We invite the public to a weekly screening and discussion of the 3-episode series Birth of a Conflict. The month concludes with Children of Peace. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is recommended to help us plan our refreshments.

The Santa Cruz County Youth Symphony (SCCYS) began in 1965 as a summer music program and officially became a youth orchestra in 1966. The Youth Symphony serves young musicians of Santa Cruz County (pop. 275,000), providing the area’s only training orchestra of pre-professional caliber. Under the direction of Nathaniel Berman, the Youth Symphony performs a variety of music from the classical symphonic repertoire in original scores, as well as modern classical music, including pieces commissioned expressly for the orchestra. The Youth Symphony consistently achieves high standards of musical excellence, while providing an educational and entertaining experience for performers and audiences alike.
